So in order to complete a successful video, it is important that we execute a valid secondary research page. We will be uploading a primary research video soon and will be asking the questions that we made in our questionnaire which is also on our blog. I visited the Pearl and Dean website and Box office mojo in order to see the amount of viewings for what age category and for what gender.
The films that we have looked at are :
Twlilight -
52% of the views for twilight Breaking Dawn part 2 were between the age range of 15-24. This meet the young adults criteria and shows us that this age range were more interested in this genre of film. The interesting part is that 70% of the views were female and only 30% were male. This large imbalance shows that female were more attracted to this style of filming and the genre. Our coursework also reaches out to this category, we are mainly targeting females from between 14-24. However Box office mojo gave the worldwide gross of the film and said that :
| Domestic: | $292,324,737 | 35.2% |
| + Foreign: | $537,360,640 | 64.8% |
|
| = Worldwide: | $829,685,377 | |
Blade trinity -
Like Twilight 56% of the views from between 15-24, because the film was a 15 unlike twilight there were no views from any lower age range. 64% were males and 36% were females, these statistics show that there isn't actually a massive gap between ages and that this film equally appealed to both genders. Blade was more of a horror film than Twilight and carried more connotations for that genre, something our piece might not do.
I can conclude that for Twilight breaking dawn part 2 the majority of viewers were female between 15-24 and that in Blade trinity the majority were males between 15-24 however only slightly. This means that we will be targeting young female because they show ore of an interest for horror romance and we will be drawing in a larger audience if we do so.
